It connects directly to data from applications such as ERP, CRM, finance, procurement, and other enterprise systems.

It gets records of everything that happens. For example, each time an order is made, an invoice is sent, payment is made, etc.

Celonis uses these data to reconstruct the sequence of events and create an overview of the actual process.

Instead of a sales manager telling the system:”Our ordering process has 3 steps”, the system can analyse the transaction data and show what employees and systems actually did.

Imagine you’re a retailer that processes thousands of invoices from your suppliers, there are bound to be issues with invoicing, approval, and delay in payment.

But with Celonis, it can scan through your transaction records, discover issues at any level, let’s say incomplete invoices for example so you don’t have to run checks through everything manually.

It can handle process variations, identify issues such as delays, repeated work, and exceptions, and automate business processes.

For example, if employees handle routine tasks, repeatedly entering the same data into systems, UiPath Process Mining can identify the pattern so the business owner can check, and decide whether the repetitive activity should be automated.

It creates a direct link between business process analysis and automation.

UiPath uses the data generated by your business applications to reconstruct the business processes, show how they work and identify where automation could provide value using its process-mining technology.

Its key features are Process visualization, analysis, and performance analysis, problem and opportunity discovery, AI-powered process modeling, and integration with UiPath automation.

 

Microsoft Power Automate Process Mining

This is good if you operate within Microsoft’s business ecosystem. It analyzes event data generated by business applications.

For example, your ordering process can be in this sequence: Order initiated – accepted – fulfilled – invoice sent – payment.

You can also connect process analysis with the wider Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics, Power BI and other products.

 

Miro

Miro works differently from the likes of Celonis and Signavio. It is a collaborative visual workplace with AI-assisted process mapping.

Instead of mining thousands of transactions, Miro helps businesses describe, discuss, design and document processes together.

You can describe a process to Miro AI and have it generate a process map from natural-language descriptions without requiring you to manually draw and connect every step.

It supports flowcharts, BPMN diagrams, value-stream maps and swimlane diagrams.

An application example is when a company wants to redesign its employee onboarding process from what already exists.

For example, you can design a process and define what happens in every step, then it’s deployed with ProcessMaker.

For example, your employee expense reimbursement is in this sequence Employee submits expense – manager reviews – finance verifies – payment approved.

Instead of you documenting these 4 steps, it helps turn them into an actual workflow, and automatically sends the expense to the appropriate unit, routes approved expenses to finance and triggers the next step.

 

Mimica

Mimica addresses a problem that traditional process mining does not always solve.
