The Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 10K with Integrated Cable, model BPB021FQBK, comes with a built-in USB-C cable that folds into its body, which you can use to charge your phone.
The integrated cable is just 2.2 inches long, so you have to keep the battery relatively close to the device you’re charging
Its dimension is 3.9 × 2.5 × 0.9 inches and it weighs 0.22kg, making it easy to carry in your pocket or bags.
What you get with a 10,000mAh Battery Capacity
At 10,000mAh or 36Wh battery capacity, you can charge 2 smartphones with 4,000mAh battery capacity.
When you charge your device, the electrical voltage has to be converted to output voltage, usually 80% is converted while the rest turns into heat waste.
Therefore, you can’t get the total 10,000mAh, but the battery capacity is enough to fully charge a phone and still have energy.
Modern smartphones have 5000mAh or more battery capacity, so BoostCharge 10k may be small for heavy users, but it’s cool as an emergency backup.
Is it Charging Fast?
The BPB021FQBK provides up to 20W through its integrated USB-C cable or USB-C port.
20W is fair enough, at least, it can fully charge a android phone or an iPhone in 2 hours or less.
It can also charge two devices simultaneously with a combined output limited to 15W, therefore, it can burn the battery fast
One thing I really like about this device is the pass-through charging, meaning you can be charging the power bank while your device is connected to it.
Also, there’s just a little difference in phone charging time when you’re recharging the power bank and charging your phone with it simultaneously.
It has a four-LED indicator that shows the remaining charge. It does not come with an adapter, so you will need your own USB-C charging adapter.
However, it takes a relatively longer time to fully get recharged from 0%, taking several hours for the bank to fully charge at 20 watts, which on average, should be between 2 and 3 hours for a 10k battery.
Is the Belkin BoostCharge 10K Worth It?
Yes, considering the price, and some of the features highlighted, the BPB021FQBK can make up for a short power outage or when you’re on transit.
The integrated USB-C cable is really helpful if you travel frequently so you don’t have to always remember to put your cable in your bag.
But for everyday phone charging, you need higher battery capacity or charging power, and 10,000mAh is just not enough.
Also, for a person like me that love to be in a relaxed posture while pressing my phone, the built-in cable is too short for my convenience so I still prefer to use my phone cable.
Again, if you’re away from an outlet, recharging the power bank can be difficult as it’s not fast to refill.
